Top 10 most outstanding MMA fighters in the past decade (Part 2)

6. Demetrious Johnson (22-3-1)

Many would argue that Johnson deserves the top spot on this list, and if we were to take pound-for-pound rankings, perhaps the American boxer was in a higher position. Johnson “reigned” the UFC fly-class throne between 2012 and 2018, becoming the first UFC fly-class champion and successfully defending that title 11 times.

  1. Khabib Nurmagomedov (21-0)

Perhaps no more words are enough to talk about the reign of “Russian Eagle” anymore. Nurmagomedov is having a wonderful time as he has never lost a single match in his 21 streaks, which is the best record of any other boxer on this list.

  1. Daniel Cormier (21-2-1)

DC’s past decade has been his highest flight time as the UFC heavyweight and heavyweight champion, not to mention the Grand Prix Strikeforce Champion title.

  1. Rousey Round (12-2)

Rousey Round is one of the greatest female fighters 300x200 - Top 10 most outstanding MMA fighters in the past decade (Part 2)Rousey had lost a few matches at the end of her career to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, but it was hard to deny that she was not one of the greatest female fighters in the sport.

Before Rousey, there was no concept of female MMA at the UFC, but she was the one who led the initiation of allowing women to step onto the octagonal floor. Rousey is the UFC women’s chicken championship with 7 successful defenders of the Strikeforce chicken throne

  1. Jon Jones (16-0-1)

For many people, Jon Jones should stand at number 1 on this list. Jones overwhelms every fighter he has faced in the past 10 years and emerged as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. The American boxer boomed late in the last decade and then became the UFC heavyweight bottom champion in 2011.

  1. Conor McGregor (18-3)

McGregor may not be the fighter with the most victories in the past 10 years, but it’s hard to deny that he’s one of the most prominent fighters since the Irishman’s move to the MMA. When the UFC was in the midst of a generation transition with the likes of Chuck Liddell and Brock Lesnar, McGregor came to the sport and became a living legend.

Besides the aforementioned names, there are a few other prominent boxers who have also stood out over the past decade, such as Max Holloway, Nate Diaz, Tony Ferguson, Eddie Alvarez, Donald Cerrone, Michael Bisping, Frankie. Edgar, Rafael dos Anjos, Stipe Miocic, Cain Velasquez, Aung La N Sang, Kyoji Horiguchi, Junior dos Santos, Israel Adesanya, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Robbie Lawler, Douglas Lima, Patricio Pitbull, Michael Chandler, Mamed Khalidov.
